Year of action to STOP Indigenous Australian deaths in custody

It has been a shocking start to the year with several incidents of police violence directed towards Indigenous Australians and deaths in custody. The Indigenous Social Justice Association in Melbourne has declared 2012 a year of escalated action to stop Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander deaths in custody.

The Commission has received 68 complaints over the recent years from people reporting employment discrimination due to their criminal record. The complaints received by the Commission indicates that discrimination against people with a criminal record is greatly misunderstood by both employers and those with the criminal record.

Queensland still locks up children in adult prisons
