Queensland still locks up children in adult prisons
03 Apr 2012
Queensland is the only state that still locks up 17 year olds in adult prisons. 20 years ago the Government promised to stop this practice, yet it still continues.
Youth Affairs Network Queensland (YANQ) has been working for over a decade against the state of affairs with their ‘STOP Locking up Children in Adult Prisons’ campaign. YANQ launched the video seventeen on 22 March 2012 in response to Queensland’s outdated laws that still lock up children in adult prisons.
YANQ needs your help to spread the word and build the campaign.
- Watch the Luka lesson - 17 film
- Spread the video, post on your facebook, tweet, email, get it out there!
- Support the campaign via facebook

'"yet there are those who want to turn this country into a pisron in an attempt to eliminate drugs"...Good point but (and there's always a, 'but') what's your alternative to what really is a problem, drug use, excessive drug use?Have you Dr. Perry ever been in an environment where everyone has access and use to a variety of drugs? Where personal behavior has no discipline? Its an ugly thing but then again I'm no better off than you with regards to offering a palatable alternative...'
